Mark Weeks article about Lasker
[edit]I deleted an external reference, that had been described as Three games of the Berlin defense between Tarrasch and Berthold Lasker. This blog post is primarily about Emanuel Lasker, arguing (rightly) that he was ahead of his time in advocating the Berlin Defense to the Ruy Lopez. All it says about Berthold Lasker is the following: "ChessLab had five more Tarrasch - Lasker games from the period 1880-1882. Three of these were between Tarrasch and Berthold Lasker, the second World Champion's older brother. The two other games were between 'Tarrasch & allies' and 'Lasker & allies'; these are undoubtedly Berthold Lasker as well." This post has little to do with Berthold Lasker, and certainly cannot accurately be described as "Three games of the Berlin defense between Tarrasch and Berthold Lasker." The only game whose moves Weeks gives in this post is a Berlin Defense played between Tarrasch and Emanuel Lasker. Krakatoa (talk) 21:47, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

also Berthold
[edit]The article starts "Berthold Lasker (also Berthold, per birth registry Jonathan Berthold Barnett)". What is meant by "also Berthold"? At first I thought Berthold was an alternate spelling, but then I realized that both the first and fourth words in the article were spelled exactly the same, "Berthold".
Would the meaning of the sentence be changed or diminished if it were altered to start: "Berthold Lasker (per birth registry Jonathan Berthold Barnett)"? Riordanmr (talk) 15:33, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
