Betsey Metcalf Baker's novel straw hat making business, notable in its time for its new approach to straw hat production, employed thousands, and in recognition of her achievements she was honored by the then governor of Rhode Island with a portrait in Union Station. For these reasons, and after having added several sources supporting her notability, I have removed the notability flag for this article at this time.
