Seperated terminated destination section[edit]

Since, Biman has a lot of terminated destinations, I think it would be better to keep a seperated terminated destination section (see SriLankan Airlines destinations). Then, information would be much more organized. Thanks -- Ahnaaf (talk) 05:58, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That's not in agreement with these guidelines.--Jetstreamer Talk 10:17, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Jetstreamer for correcting me. But according to the guidelines, ICAO/IATA codes are not needed. Also, it discourages the use of colours (For hubs, terminated destinations etc), but instead a notes column is advisable. Accordingly, I will make changes to the list, if you have no problems with it. Please let me know. Thanks -- Ahnaaf (talk) 11:47, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It has been discussed not so long ago at WP:AIRLINES that headers with colours matching the ones in the logos are perfectly acceptable. As to the IATA/ICAO codes, you are absolutely right. I haven't had the time to turn this particular table into the new format that was agreed by consensus. Everyone is welcome to carry out that task. Go ahead with it!--Jetstreamer Talk 22:33, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The table of destinations has been put in new format.--Jetstreamer Talk 18:30, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should only keep the destinations that people want to see. We shouldn't keep the terminated destinations. This is because it makes the table look really bad and the people who are searching may not find it reliable because they don't want the terminated destinations. Also, Biman Bangladesh Airlines is not going to launch these services any sooner. It is going to take them a lot of years to re-launch these routes. So, I think it will be very good to not keep these terminated destinations. And, when Biman relaunches these routes. Then, we can edit and place the destinations back on the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by UnBreakableEagle (talkcontribs) 08:51, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You cannot proceed with the removal of terminated destinations without getting consensus first. Your edits have been reverted. The inclusion of terminated destinations is perfectly valid and in agreement with WP:AIRLINE-DEST-LIST. In fact, their inclusion is encyclopedic as this is not a travel guide and not only current destinations are to be included. Separately, you should sign your posts.--Jetstreamer Talk 16:14, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You know what Jetstreamer. Just go to hell. You are not even eligible to edit posts. You seem to be a nobody who is jealous of everyone who is trying to edit the posts for a good cause. And, for your kind information. Wikipedia has always been considered as a travel guide. So, just go to hell. — Preceding unsigned comment added by UnBreakableEagle (talkcontribs) 14:56, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Have a nice day too.--Jetstreamer Talk 15:25, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Incomplete list[edit]

I don't think the list requires an incomplete list tag, as it looks complete to me. -- Ahnaaf (talk) 17:36, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. Removed.--Jetstreamer Talk 17:47, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New York & Birmingham delay[edit]

As per this reference we knew that Biman was supposed to resume JFK flights via BHX from 4 June 2014. However, few hours after the press conference on the resumption of JFK flights, the media had said the resumption will be delayed. Furthermore, Biman has not began ticket sales and they haven't officially published anything regarding the resumption of the JFK flight. Therefore I have removed Birmingham and showed NYC as a terminated destination. Here are some references:

Guwahati flight[edit]

As regarding the question of the commencement of Biman's Guwahati flight; it has not given an official commencing date yet. The reference provided only said the flight began on July 1st, but according to Biman's route map and flight schedules, Guwahati is not listed. So I think the Guwahati row should be immediately removed. Thanks - Ahnaaf (talk) 15:43, 4 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Ahnaaf: This may sound strange, but we normally assume services have been launched after the start date included in a reliable reference has passed. This case is not the exception. Either flights started, they have been delayed for some reason, or directly cancelled. One way or the other, a source should be provided. Let me add that I understand your concerns: Air Zimbabwe flights to London-Gatwick were set to resume last year but they never commenced. I found a source confirming they have not started just this week.--Jetstreamer Talk 21:14, 4 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Jetstreamer: I find this ironic, least to say. As quoted from the unreliable reference:
"Biman Bangladesh Airlines will fly twice a week to Guwahati from Dhaka from July 1. The Bangladesh government has approved the national carrier’s flight plan to bolster connectivity with India’s landlocked north-eastern region.
This was stated by a Meghalaya government official on Thursday quoting Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Tariq A Karim."
I am sure you are aware of the fact that a High Commissioner does not decide on when an airline will commence flights; but officials of the airline. Nowhere in the article, is a Biman official mentioned. If you research about the commencement of new destinations by Biman, it involves a lot of guests including the media. As example, when Yangon and Frankfurt flights resumed, the Civil Aviation Minister was invited, and it involved cake-cutting. So if it REALLY did start, it would've definitely appear on the internet or newspapers. So I think that the presence of the Guwahati row, will make the readers think the article is ironic and untrue. So I would therefore request you, to IMMEDIATELY remove the row. Thanks - Ahnaaf (talk) 11:53, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sharjah a former destination[edit]

Biman had served this route uptil late 1980s or so, saw it in their route map in a magazine advertisement of the airline. 175.110.222.144 (talk) 07:54, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've discussed this you many, many times. "I saw it on a magazine" cannot be considered a reliable source.--Jetstreamer Talk 11:16, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Did I say add it based on that? if anyone else can find a former route map or schedule from that era only then include it. 175.110.223.208 (talk) 17:50, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Recent disruptive IP edits[edit]

This [1] is the last of a number of edits from a Bangladeshi IP that keeps removing references and changing the format from table to list without any prior discussion. I'll be reverting it as this is a clear case of at least disruptive editing. I've requested protection of the page [2].--Jetstreamer Talk 14:27, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
