[edit]Aug 2006 - revised to remove the comingling of BD with Chouinard Eq Ltd. They are separate companies. Chouinard Equipment Ltd. also deserves a separate article is someone would like to start one. Much of this article was not very accurate - better now I hope. Hi Maria! The tragedy of Chouinard Equipment was not that the company manufactured defective products, rather it was sunk by its alleged "failure to warn" customers of the potential dangers inherent in the use of climbing equipment. The spirit that had been Chouinard Equipment could not be extinguished however, and on December 1, 1989 the former employees of Chouinard Equipment signed the papers to make the first employee-owned company in the climbing industry official. Black Diamond was born. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.58.35.86 (talk) 19:33, August 23, 2007 (UTC)

- Done I have clarified that Sierra Bullets is no longer owned by Clarus and removed it from the lead, which seems to an uncontroversial change even if the IP is personally Neil Fiske. For future reference, if you make a COI edit request, please make it clear what your relationship is to the company. Rusalkii (talk) 18:28, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
