"Soviet Born" is a strange description.

[edit]

I suggest saying something like "Born in Russia during the Soviet period". We don't say that people are "Born in the EU" we say that the were born in Germany, even though Germany is part of a larger association.

Pretty sure that Russian people always consider themselves Russian, and same for other parts of the former USSR.

No one would say that someone born in Estonia in 1981 was born in the Soviet Union. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.22.76.12 (talk) 19:35, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, one would say that. The USSR was a single political entity, not comparable to the EU. Jibal (talk) 04:14, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Going to have to agree with Jibal. You could say he was born in the Russian SFSR or the Soviet Union, but not Russia Jtb323 (talk) 19:10, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Epshteyn family ties to organized crime in Russia

[edit]

Could a section be added on his family business connections to organized crime in Russia prior to their moving to the US. There is information available in in Russian and Polish language on this but nothing has been translated to English. 101.109.210.151 (talk) 12:15, 26 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It would require legitimate sources; should not be placed in there because of some claim to those sources on the Talk tab.--LeyteWolfer (talk) 23:38, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnic orgin

[edit]

Is there a particular reason his ethnic orgin is being highlighted in the first paragraph? Unless it's significantly relevant, I'd propose removing it from that high up Jtb323 (talk) 19:06, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
