Born in Kansas or Missouri

[edit]

Not clear whether he was born in Kansas City, Kansas or Kansas City, Missouri. The PGA Tour hedges its bet with Kansas on the player page but Missouri in its obituary. IMDB has Missouri https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0509758/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm but overall Kansas (I think) wins the vote. Perhaps it doesn't matter too much but it'd be nice to know. "Lietzke, ironically, was born in Kansas City during what is known as the Great Flood of 1951. Elizabeth Lietzke had always traveled to Wichita to have her babies delivered by her private physician. But because of the flood, she had to stay home when Bruce was born." http://www.espn.com/golf/story?id=1381543 Which doesn;t really help Nigej (talk) 20:52, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
"In fact, Lietzke – who was born July 18, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri..."Wyliepedia @ 21:33, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed that's what I was referring to above but it doesn't of itself prove anything. eg "Lietzke was born in Kansas City, Kansas, but moved to Beaumont with his family at age 9" https://www.panews.com/2018/07/28/golf-beaumont-native-lietzke-13-time-pga-tour-winner-dies-at-67/ Nigej (talk) 04:44, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Nigej: He was born in Kansas. The PGA Tour, A 1991 PGA Tour Guide book, This Golf.com article[1] about Kansas golfers, and the topper. A paid obituary[2] in the local newspaper where he died. That takes the cake. His family would know his place of birth and that's who wrote the obituary. Imdb is not considered a reliable source too. BTW I changed the article back to Kansas and with references....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 16:46, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
