How to change section title to Gene Tormohlen
[edit]Notice all of the supporting materials. Those articles are titled "Gene." Bumper is an obscure nickname.BillVol (talk) 17:36, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
The above is correct: "Bumper" was a little-known nickname given to him by teammate Bill Bridges when he played for the Kansas City Steers of the ABL. He was never known in the media as "Bumper" Tormohlen during his college, ABL, or NBA careers. When I tried to change this Wikipedia entry, I was falsely accused of "vandalizing" the site.
This Wikipedia article apparently originated from a website called Basketball-Reference.com, which initially listed him as "Bumper" Tormohlen, rather than "Gene" Tormohlen. Interestingly, Basketball-Reference has corrected its listing, and now lists him as "Gene," but Wikipedia still clings to the silly "Bumper" moniker.
