POV dispute
[edit]@Srnec: I'm not sure if I understand this cleanup tag on this article. Does the lead section need to be rewritten? Jarble (talk) 17:09, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
- Really this article should be deleted and fully redirecte to Burma National Army--Havsjö (talk) 17:20, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Jarble: I haven't read the whole article, but the first sentence is ridiculous. No, the BIA did not "[lead] the Burmese State to liberation from British rule in Burma with the help of the Japanese in 1942". The Japanese created the BIA then used it in its invasion of Burma, which was not a liberation in any sense, as the BIA's leaders later realized when they turned on the Japanese and sided with the British. There is, as Havsjö said, a move/merge proposal affecting this article at Talk:Burma National Army#Requested move 1 January 2019. While I think we could probably do with multiple articles on the various Burmese armies of WWII, the ones we have now overlap considerably and merging them would be a gain. That's why I did not bother trying to fix the first sentence myself. Srnec (talk) 17:49, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
- Why would we need multiple articles on the different armies? A BNA article would have to cover BIA to understand why it was formed and a BIA article would have to cover BNA to show what it got reformed into. Same with PBF and BDA (which also would be about 3 sentences long each...)--Havsjö (talk) 18:39, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
