I reverted this out of the article, but I was reluctant to simply delete it.

Byron Eric Kennedy born 18th august 1949 was MY brother...and my greatest INSPIRATION...I remember as a little girl..he was 8 years older than me..He had a movie camera and was filming me in our backyard....I had to jump off a chicken shed...make out I was a twin...our mother had to act out that she was a NINJA...in 100 degree heat...he made fake tin stars that the ninja's threw etc...HE WAS AMAZING....at a very young age.. we both used to watch the SAMAURI tv show on tv on saturday mornings..along with THE THUNDERBIRDS... I will never forget..I was 10 yrs old..suffering from a stomach problem!! mum was 42 yo (and amazing)..Byron made her a NINJA suit..complete with all the ninja weapons..we went out to some location and he filmed her running around..jumping out of trees etc..all I can vaguely remember is that I wanted to go to the toilet!!! this is still on MY home video...WONDERFUL footage!!

In his early 20's he met GEORGE MILLER at a film festival at melbourne university...they hit it off instantly and they became great mates....george became a doctor and byron became his driver in a locum around the western suburbs of melbourne...I will never forget the BLUE mini van they drove...Byron would be the driver of this tinny old van whilst George was the doctor attending to people's ailments...They would do the shift from 11.00 pm until about 8.00 am.... George Miller lived at our house for about a year during this time....MUM used to be constantly in the kitchen cooking wonderful meals for these boys...including my dad... My brother was 6'2" and George , although, not as tall, was quite stocky..and to say the least...had the heartiest appetite!!! along with my dad...who turned 82 yesterday (15/10/2005) and I turned 48 yesterday (15/10/2005)...Mum had a BIG job feeding this very hungry tribe!!! and I must say she did a magnificient job..

Byron and George went on to make THE DEVIL IN EVENING DRESS & VIOLENCE IN THE CINEMA....I shall never forget the time when George actually came down our driveway with the carcus of a pig...MUM NEARLY HAD A HEART ATTACK.... I can honestly say my mother became very adept at seeing the oddest things EVER in our HOUSEHOLD ...what with Byron and George in control...nothing was impossible!!!

Time went on a little bit...I completed my HSC at Penleigh & Essendon Grammar school and went on to study Law at Melbourne University... In my second year of study...Byron & George were filming MAD MAX 1...I had the privilege of being MEL Gibsons driver... The effort both Byron & George went to obtain finance...backing...distribution rights etc for the movie was amazing.. BYRON was amazing...his insight...knowledge...presence...manner...overall ability to be able to deal with people WAS and STILL is incredible...the trouble he had once the film was finally released with critics criticising the movie etc...BUT he overcame ALL of these obstacles because he HAD a true belief in HIS product...and HIMSELF.... NOTHING OR NO ONE STOOD IN HIS WAY... He went for his goals and he achieved them...

We also had the wonderful mini series...BODYLINE...VIETNAM..DIRTWATER DYNASTY..COWRA BREAKOUT..THE DISMASSAL...magnificient mini series..a breakthrough in the australian television industry with their wonderful quality in acting/production values etc... Nicole KIDMAN...Mel Gibson...Steve Bisley...just to name a few..can probably owe some of their success to KENNEDY MILLER...

MY brother was truly amazing...HE IS A LEGEND IN THE AUSTRALIAN FILM INDUSTRY..indeed the World film industry... UPON his death my family and I received enormous telegrams (as they then were) from ALL over the world...Warner Bros...ROADSHOW..BBC...etc etc...too numerous to mention... HE WAS and still IS an inspiration to the australian film industry...his memory is perpetuated through the Byron KEnnedy award at the AFI awards...

I now have two children who are following in his wonderful example...They are both wonderful people...striving for their best in their academic career...sporting abilities...and they take GREAT PRIDE/DELIGHT to be able to say that their UNCLE is BYRON KENNEDY.... I also take great pride to know that this wonderful Man was/is my BROTHER...who looked after me..guided and advised me..and I know BYRON would love to thank our parents for the wonderful support/comfort/guidance they afforded him... He truly was a LEGEND well befor HIS TIME....a man with great insight...

HE IS A LEGEND IN THE AUSTRALIAN FILM INDUSTRY...and unfortunately died in a tragic helicopter crash at the tender age of 33 yo..when he was really JUST beginning to show us all his amazing talents...
