Page name[edit]

I notice this page has been redirected from Canadian Council on Africa. The latter was actually a better title for the page, and more in line with Wikipedia naming policies, because it is the organization's correct name. Generally, the title of Wikipedia articles on organizations does not contain the name of the organization plus its abbreviation in brackets. It's also possible that a searcher would type in "Canadian Council on Africa" and go straight there, whereas no searcher is likely to type in "Canadian Council on Africa (CCAfrica)".

There is a redirect page CCAfrica which pointed to the old title, so anyone searching on that would have been redirected automatically anyway. As a result of the move, this is now a double redirect, so it needs fixing if the new name is to remain. I think the page should be moved back to Canadian Council on Africa, with a redirect from CCAfrica and a first line that reads The Canadian Council on Africa, commonly known as CCAfrica, is... (etc). --Karenjc 21:12, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
