PHAGE

[edit]

The title should be changed back to Phage again since the name has officially been canonized in Carnage U.S.A. and a host other than Carl Mach has been bonded with the symbiote. Also it seems like people are a LOT more likely to look for Phage and Agony than Leslie Gesneria and Carl Mach which are pretty obscure names as the symbiote's hosts were always fairly obscure characters.24.191.7.238 (talk) 00:21, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Although I wouldn't mind a section about the original host's name and how Carl Mach may likely have been a reference to the real life Karl Marx who like the character was extremely amoral and unethical and evil, although on a MUCH larger scale.24.191.7.238 (talk) 00:21, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

His name

[edit]

This article says: "Both Phage and Rampage are fan names for Carl. Phage was actually the nickname for the Xenophage, a giant predatory alien-monster that preyed upon symbiotes, but the name Phage stuck in the symbiote mythos." How is this fact? Is Phage the name used for his character in the Separation Anxiety game? Is it the name used for his action figure? How is this "official" and not fan-cruft? ---SilentRAGE! 02:33, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

None of the Seperation Anixety symbiotes have official names. Not sure about the action figure name, though.--Viridistalk|contributions 03:46, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scream has a name and Lasher has a name because of his action figure.

So basically, his name is original research? This should be moved to Carl Mach. Gurko 15:25, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, his name isn't even original research - it's pure misinformation, but looking at the history, when people have tried to correct it in the past, others have rushed in to make it wrong again. 109.157.160.5 (talk) 09:26, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

[edit]

Phage (comics)Carl Mach — The character has never been called Phage in any Marvel literature. This character was only known by his "civilian" name, and never had any codename. The name Phage comes from Xenophage, which was one of this character's enemies, not the character himself. Fans misapplied it to him. 109.156.55.61 (talk) 10:09, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This page needs to be moved back to Carl Mach. Phage is not an official name in any way. DeadpoolRP (talk) 21:31, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple issues with this article

[edit]

I have tagged this article with multiple issues. It is not clear that the topic meets general notability guidelines. No independent, reliable sources are cited, and it is not clear that such sources exist. Therefore, a justification for a stand-alone Wikipedia article is lacking. I might suggest that this article be merged into another article, perhaps List of Spider-Man enemies. Alternatively, the whole article could be deleted, per WP:INDISCRIMINATE.
