New Picture
[edit]Would anyone mind if I replaced the photo? I have one that shows more of the field and stadium.

Hills
[edit]Baseball was played on this spot since who knows when. Old photos show the field at the bottom of hills, and the crowds sitting on the hills. Today, the hills are, in fact, the fault that runs the Vegas Valley. Apple8800 (talk) 17:33, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
Canadian Wikiproject?
[edit]Why is a stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada under the auspices of the Wikiproject Toronto? Gateman1997 (talk) 17:28, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- Somebody added it because of the (tenuous) connection to the Toronto Blue Jays, but that's not enough to include the stadium within the project's scope. I have removed that wikiproject banner. PKT(alk) 14:42, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Oakland Athletics categories
[edit]Should the Oakland Athletics categories (Category:Oakland Athletics & Category:Oakland Athletics stadiums) be removed the bottom of the Cashman Field page? -NetWitz- 05:14, 1 September 2017 (UTC)NetWitz
- That might be a better question for WP:BASEBALL since it could affect other teams and facilities. If it's listed for the A's, it should be listed at one category or the other, not both, since Category:Oakland Athletics stadiums is a subcategory of Category:Oakland Athletics. Given the clear temporary use of it, I lean towards it being in the main Oakland Athletics category (as part of the team's history), but consensus could say otherwise and move it to the stadium category. --JonRidinger (talk) 05:45, 1 September 2017 (UTC)
Stadium Photo in Infobox
[edit]I think that photo might be of Las Vegas Ballpark because the sign in the bottom right corner of the photo looks like the Las Vegas Ballpark logo. Please correct me if I am wrong. SportsFan007 (talk) 07:20, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
- No, it is Cashman. Compare it with the other image or those on Commons. NatureBoyMD (talk) 12:26, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
Infobox photo
[edit]Can we use a picture of the field in soccer formation? The current photo looks more like a baseball formation. I am asking this becuase Cashman Field is only used for soccer now. SportsFan007 (talk) 08:23, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
- Of course, provided a free image is available. NatureBoyMD (talk) 13:48, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
"Soccer-specific"
[edit]This term with regard to Cashman Field is NOT accurate. In North American usage, a "soccer-specific stadium" is a purpose-built facility always built principally to host soccer matches, not something originally built for another sport and then repurposed to host soccer, even if this later becomes the facility's primary or sole purpose.
Cashman Field is so transparently an old minor league baseball park that this is an outrageous abuse of this term and should be corrected. 2600:1004:B115:71DE:0:42:D6FA:AA01 (talk) 16:10, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
