Catherine, Elisabeth, or Catherine Elisabeth[edit]

This text was recently inserted in the article:

"Catherine Elisabeth was in fact likely named only Catherine; she was often referred to as Elisabeth in older literature, but this was likely due to a mixup with her younger sister, who was named Elisabeth. In the 14th century, it was still rare to have two first names such as "Catherine Elisabeth". Due to this confusion, however, she has sometimes been referred to by both names.

The same text is in the Swedish article, and it states a German language reference. While two first names was common by the 17th century, it was indeed most unusual in the 14th century to be known by two first names. It is also hard to believe that one sister would be called Catherine Elisabeth and the other Elisabeth. The explanation it therefore logical, and as there is a reference, it can not be removed until we have a reference which say otherwise. Also then, it can be preserved as a theory, as her name form seem to have been the object of much confusion. --Aciram (talk) 22:36, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Birth year[edit]
