Reason for not deleting this article

The article is too important to not exist, so removing the proposed deletion tag. The content for this article comes from article Changdev the place where Changdev Maharaj lived. Since the original article is for a place refering to it from other articles or expanding it would put limitations.

No offence but someone seems to be jumping the gun when an article is proposed for deletion under the reason of no references, within hours of its creation.

You have to understand that a lot of the new articles created really are complete rubbish and it is important to get rid of them quickly otherwise Wikipedia would very quickly get clogged up with thousands of rubbish articles. People reviewing the new articles have to make quick decisions as there are so many new articles. If the first draft of a legitimate article contains a lot of poorly written material then it will often get put up for deletion as the reviewer can't tell that the subject is genuine and notable. This is why it is important to start new articles with a simple explanation of the subject and a few references and then build it up, rather than write a lot of stuff that may not make sense to somebody quickly scanning for nonsensical articles. It was right that this article was sent to AfD for discussion rather than be speedily deleted. I am sure we will reach the correct outcome. Rather than accuse anybody of doing anything wrong, lets just focus on getting the article fixed. --DanielRigal (talk) 10:24, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Changdev

[edit]

Changdev Maharaj is more famous as simply Changdev, as he is referred in VaRKARI LITERATURE describing his encounter with Dnyaneshwar. --Redtigerxyz Talk 04:32, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
