Fine?
[edit]The fine is given as 150,000 in the introduction, as 1,500,000 in the last paragraph. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:908:E855:D0A0:0:0:0:CF95 (talk) 09:00, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
"Decisive" victory
[edit]I have removed the "Decisive" from the result. It was unreferenced and not based on the body of the article. The war's end saw the Company regain its possession in Bombay in exchange for some ultimately meaningless gestures of submission and a fine. I don't see what makes that Mughal victory "decisive"; at most served it served as a speed bump for British expansion in India, but otherwise things seem to have largely returned to the status quo ante bellum. It was a decisive victory , not in the grand scheme of history , but in military service. The Mughals routed the British in both the sea and land. Thus , even though this might not have changed History , it sure was a decisive military victory. Thus . The word decisive deserves to stay . Name
[edit]I corrected the Naming nomenclature into something that is more correct. Calling this war as "Child's war" , even though it was started by someone with the last name of "child" , has developed serious Rasict connotations in both the Indian Subcontinent and it's former coloniser U.K . Thus , by changing the name from "Child's war" to the " First Anglo-Mughal War" , I here , not only provide a more informatively correct name ,but de-root that huge History or racism. Can we change the name of the main article? Bukhara (Kingdom of Bukhara) (talk) 00:05, 13 February 2020 (UTC)
- User:Bukhara (Kingdom of Bukhara), so should the article be renamed to First Anglo-Mughal War? We need to reach a consensus firstly, then we will be able to change it. So far I've found these sources [1][2]--Relaxwikis (talk) 13:56, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, I also agree. Anglo Mughal is more appropriate.--92.3.93.136 (talk) 13:51, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

The sources names it simply anglo-mughal, without mentioning fist, just like Anglo–Persian War. The Battle of Buxar is not considered to be the second anglo-mughal war since it was a battle. The article has not been moved properly. Thank youSadatosage (talk) 13:56, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
- Let me have a look. Can't keep moving it.--Relaxwikis (talk) 15:23, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
What are the Racist connotations? Calling it Child's war serves duel purpose of showing who initiated the war as well as poetically being first EiC war in India Kind Regards, NotAnotherNameGuy (talk) 13:09, 15 July 2022 (UTC)

Infobox
[edit]@Freezingwedge so what's wrong with the infobox? The casualties and losses are already mentioned on the entire article, so why are you removing them from the box?79.75.46.143 (talk) 17:48, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
Ottoman Turks
[edit]The perpetrators of this pirate conflict could have been the Ottoman Turks.
This conflict could have been related to the self-determination of Ceylon and India.

Infobox "Result"
[edit]Please note that Template:Infobox military conflict#Parameters states against "result" that "this parameter may use one of two standard terms: "X victory" or "Inconclusive"." The infobox has been amended to reflect this. Please read the template "result" guidance in full before amending or reverting. It would probably be best to discuss any proposed change here first to seek consensus. Thanks. Gog the Mild (talk) 22:25, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
