Mapuche Smuggling

[edit]

It is well known that the mapuches and other related tribes stealed horses from the sorroundings of Buenos Aires to then sell them in Chile.. Nothing about this apears in the article. Dentren 22:42, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Chilean horse and the Criollo horse (Argentine horse) are differents Horse breeds.--Urco 19:21, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

on why Chilean horse article is of mid-importance to WP equine

[edit]
  1. Its one if not the oldest registered breed horse breed from South America.
  2. It is was the only horse to exist en Chile during colonial times
  3. It the only horse allowed in Chilean rodeo
  4. Its still the main horse on rural areas of Chile

Not only international competition breeds are to be in the mid-importance, the Chilean horse is an emblemitic symbol of Chilean culture, its considered part of Chilean national identity. Dentren | Talk 21:40, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Little of which is relevant, we have DOZENS of breeds that are the biggest breed in their own nation or symbolic of their nation, in fact, the same could probably be said of half of the 350+ breed articles here. More to the point, what has been the contribution of this breed to the rest of the world? What other breeds were created from it? A breed such as the Andalusian, Thoroughbred or Arabian is "high" because of their significant impact on dozens of other light horse breeds. Major breeds of international importance become "mid" because they also have a significant worldwide influence. However, note that even breeds like Connemara pony, which is iconic or Ireland are classed "low" by WPEQ even though "mid" by WP Ireland. Welsh pony, on the other hand, is "mid" in part due to its significant influence on other breeds and major worldwide presence. Montanabw(talk) 03:54, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
