American Airlines flights to Beijing and Hong Kong

I would like to find a news article that connects them to the Chinese community (there was a DMN article that connected American Airlines's service to Seoul to the Dallas Korean community).

History, not tourbook

It seems like a lot of this article isn't really history, but more like a guide to present day establishments and life for today's Chinese Americans in Dallas, which really isn't the intent. For instance, it's not supposed to have an updated list of current Chinese churches in the area, but rather, things like how religious customs of Chinese people in Dallas have changed since immigrants first started arriving in the area, what and when was the first Chinese church established, etc. Of course, cited references of that type of information may be hard to obtain. Also, the article completely ignores a smaller, but significant Chinese population in Tarrant county. Lhts120 (talk) 06:08, 25 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Lhts120: Thanks for the comments! I based the series of articles on the "History of the Jews in..." but the information skews towards the modern era, partly because that's what is readily available online, and also because large scale Chinese immigration seems to have only began after immigration reform in the 1960s (Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965); the numbers of Chinese were quite small before circa the 1970s. I could have the title changed to "Chinese community in Dallas–Fort Worth" and do the same for the other series.
To some extent it needs to be a "tourbook" as the reader should know about all of the institutions belonging to the ethnic group: this is the emphasis the Dallas Morning News puts on the group. Let's use the Japanese people of Mexico City as an example: that group has no particular part of town it is concentrated in, but it has several institutions in common, such as schools, mutual aid associations, etc. These were noted in a master degree student's survey of the Japanese community in Mexico City ("The Japanese Immigrant Community in Mexico Its History and Present" by Chizuko Watanabe). This tells me that when one researches an ethnic group, one should take count of their institutions. Likewise the Chinese community in DFW has several institutions in common, including the weekend Chinese schools, the churches, etc. To understand the community the reader needs to know about this stuff.
An important thing to note: Wikipedia generally relies on secondary sources. This article can't say much about the Chinese in Tarrant county until/unless I find secondary sources that talk about their history.

I'm not sure which Chinese restaurants are heavily associated with the community/are "well known" enough but I wonder if this one qualifies...
