Re: Chris Stamp's date of birth

[edit]

I was unable to find an exact date, however I surmised his year of birth based on the only two references to his age that I could find:

  • Page 31 of the Pete Townshend biography Amazing Journey: The Life of Pete Townshend which stated that Chris was 5 years younger than Kit Lambert
  • Chris Stamp's bio on his brother Terence's website which states that he is younger than Terence Stamp "by a couple of years". However I've also found conflicting info on the web about Terence's own year of birth; most sources state it was 1938, but others state 1930.

Long story short, if anyone could find his DOB from a reliable source, feel free to add it to the article! Marchije (talk) 01:58, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

According to the Plaistow Grammar School registers Chris was born on 7 July 1942. I too cannot confirm this from an online source so I have not added it to the article. Sources state either 1940 or 1942, and 42 appears correct as he started at the school in September 1953 at the age of 11. The same registers give Terence's DoB as 22 July 1938. Thanks LenF54. I too found conflicting info on his age and so I believe originally I had left it at "c. 1940" with a dubious tag. Then in 2009 an edit was made by Cstewart139 without an added reference which I had originally reverted -- some of our conversation can be found on their user talk page and on mine. While there is still no solid reference, I took this user at their word and your own research further bolsters Cstewart139's assertion, which is comforting. Tables

[edit]

Please feel free to fix these too. This was my first attempt and I can see that they need some improvement in the text spacing and they could also use some borders. Marchije (talk) 01:58, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
