Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Clermont Carn. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Relays

[edit]

The article currently states...

"uniquely, Clermont Carn is the only main television transmitter in Ireland that is vertically polarised, and does not service any relay transmitters."

I think this needs to be reviewed. There are now relay transmitters at Drogheda and Greenore. I'm not sure where they're serviced from but they're in the Clermont Carn service area. Karsini (talk) 10:21, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This was just split out of Clermont Carn. However, that is not a long article and there is no indication that this transmission site is independently notable. Two of the sources are primary sources. The third is a dead link, but appears to be a minor mention. Without in-depth independent coverage, this should be merged as an alternative to deletion MB 02:39, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The transmission site article is about a different subject entirely from the article on the geography and National Monument. It is part of a series on the the main broadcast transmitter sites in Ireland in which six so far have a dedicated page (I was working on the others) This series provides information to those interested in broadcasting in Ireland, if it is not considered "notable" then maybe it should be deleted along with the other five pages on transmission sites in Ireland. I do not understand the desire to remove or merge different subjects from this site that may be of interest to others. Over the years many people have contributed text and photos on the broadcasting aspect rather than the geography subject of the page. Greentide (talk) 09:03, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This article is about the mountain, it can certainly included information about the geography AND human uses. Each article needs to meet notability requirements, if some transmission sites in Ireland are notable (and I have not looked at any other in this "series"), that does not confer notability on others. Well if they're not "notable" then just delete them. Greentide (talk) 22:31, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support merge, as an alternative to deletion; merging is almost always the better idea (see WP:ATD-M). Klbrain (talk) 11:46, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
