Safest Cities[edit]

An edit on 15-August-2006 claimed that Clinton Township was rated by CNN Money as the 17th safest city in the United States. No citation was given for this claim. To the contrary, the October 2006 CNN Money article I found does not have Clinton Township on the list[1]. I am deleting the statement until a citation can be found. --Ben Best 07:08, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Charter Township of Clinton, MichiganClinton, Macomb County, Michigan – The article should be moved to this title per WP:USPLACE. - Presidentman talk · contribs Random Picture of the Day (Talkback) 21:21, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. It is a charter township. No evidence is provided that it is commonly known as "Clinton, Macomb County, Michigan]]. olderwiser 22:26, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
See my vote below. Canuck89 (converse with me) 13:22, May 30, 2012 (UTC)
  • Move per WP:USPLACE, which specifically mentions A placename that needs additional disambiguation should include its county or parish Canuck89 (converse with me) 13:22, May 30, 2012 (UTC)
  • Why is additional disambiguation needed? Is there another Charter Town`ship of Clinton in Michigan? And secondly, in Michigan, there are only a few townships that are commonly known as simply X rather than X Township, so it would be improper to move this to imply that this is called "Clinton" without any additional evidence that it is commonly known as simply "Clinton". olderwiser 00:37, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to Clinton Township, Macomb County, Michigan. As far as I can tell, "Charter Township of Clinton" is the official name, but "Clinton Township" seems to be the WP:COMMONNAME here. See Google results for the former and the latter. (Also note that even the article says the township is commonly known as "Clinton Township".) Since there's more than one Clinton Township, Michigan, we should follow WP:USPLACE and add the county name. Lastly, take a look at Category:Charter townships in Michigan. Titles seem to be split about evenly between four forms: "X Township, Michigan"; "X Charter Township, Michigan"; "X Township, Y County, Michigan"; and "X Charter Township, Y County, Michigan". This is the only article with the form "Charter Township of X, Michigan". Dohn joe (talk) 04:54, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've no objection to moving to Clinton Township, Macomb County, Michigan. The original name of the article was Clinton Charter Township, Michigan which needs is how it was identified in the U.S. Census source that Rambot used. While there is some small loss by removing that detail from the title, there is no hard and fast naming convention for charter townships in Michigan and no requirement to use the official name where it is not also the common name. olderwiser 11:08, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sister City[edit]

The sister city that was listed was in Japan. Clinton Township is clearly in the United States. A city in the United States will clearly not have a sister city in Japan. Changed it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dc1100796995 (talkcontribs) 19:39, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Did you look at the reference provided? Do you understand what the sister city program is? olderwiser 19:42, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
