Talk:Cloak & Dagger (video game)
First comment thread
[edit]I sat through the entire 3-part recorded gameplay on Youtube but could not find any similarity with the film with which it is linked and in which it appears. The villain of the game is called "Dr. Boom" and he lives in the laboratory on Level 33, but he doesn't appear when the player gets to the climactic level - only the secret plans do. I didn't even see where the tweaks were other than the change of title for the game. The player character doesn't even look like the man on the screen - he looks like Black Hat from the Usborne title, HOW TO BE A SPY!Glammazon (talk) 18:21, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
- The game, which was originally called Agent X, was created independently of the movie. Originally the game cartridge was going to be Donkey Kong. You'll notice that the spy doesn't even look like Jack Flack, he wears a trenchcoat and some kind of ski mask, whereas Jack flack wore a leather vest and beret. 8-Bit and 5200 Prototypes
[edit]It should be noted that there is only one unfinished prototype of the game; the 5200 and Atari 8-bit computer have the same chipset, so in this case the 400/800 version was being written first, and the could would then have minor modifications made to it upon completion to make it work on the 5200. (From one of the quoted articles: "I was working on the Atari 400/800/1200 version of Cloak & Dagger. Since the Atari 5200 was basically just an Atari 400 with a different controller, when I completed the home computer version, I was supposed to modify the game to use the "360-degree" 5200 controller (as opposed to the 9-position home computer joystick)").
