Johnny Lee Roberts affidavit and recantation
[edit]Johny Lee Robert's sworn affidavit and recantation makes interesting reading. Nowhere in it does he suggest that he was coerced into implicating Kennard. Nor does he even make explicit that it was his testimony that dragged Kennard into the case. He is clear however that he stole the chickenfeed and immediately sold it to Kennard - thus if nothing else making Kennard a receiver of stolen goods. Very convenient for the hostile authorities, but maybe they just got lucky. 92.26.176.67 (talk) 16:53, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
Mississippi Sovereignty Commission on-line records
[edit]The on-line records of the mississippi sovereignty commission contain 206 documents which mention Kennard. But there doesn't seem to be one which implicates the commission in framing Kennard for reckless driving and possession of whiskey. There is however a document in which the writer describes the arrest as 'unfortunate' and speculates that the two police officers involved acted on their own initiative. 92.26.176.67 (talk) 15:38, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
