This Article Needs Serious Work

[edit]

I will rarely ever call an article terrible, but I think this might be. It is not encyclopedic, there's one instance of a quotation mark that comes from and goes to no where (which leads me to believe some amount of the article is plagiarized), and the whole thing is disturbingly pro-Nazi (not to mention less than believable). Specific things that need changing:

"Most Germans had never even seen the swastika!" - An exclamation point (not to mention a citationless anecdote) does not belong in an encyclopedia.

"The words were music to the "opportunist" ears. Hitler pushed aside the policeman..." - The first sentence reads like something from a novel, and the second... really? Hitler, some random nobody from a Munich shoved aside a police officer and nothing happened?

"Here, at last, they saw a savior" from the Communist repression." - Why is there a quotation mark? What is being quoted? Which part of that sentence is a quote? Because as it stands, none of it is a quote, and Wikipedia just called Hitler a savior.

"they would first kidnap every Communist they could find and would take them back to Munich on the commandeered train. What would then happen to the Communists was left to everyone's active imaginations." - Did Wikipedia just state that Hitler kidnapped hundreds of people, put them on a train, and then raped them all to death (that's where my imagination went)? Without a citation?

"Hitler had won."

I don't even know what can be done to this article, the main section is all just so terrible. I don't know what Wikipedia policy is (though I pray it's more than just putting up a little box at the top of the page), but I suggest the whole thing just get deleted, let someone who actually has facts come along and write it from scratch, rather than leaving this mess up the way it is. 99.225.1.14 (talk) 15:20, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know enough about the topic to rewrite the article but it is horrendously poor. Please could someone who has some knowledge of this decoration and is not so enamoured of the Third Reich as whoever originally drafted this article is look into this and improve it. At present it reads like a column from a Nazi paper. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.40.68.164 (talk) 20:58, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
