First appearance was a cameo... somewhere...

[edit]

I'm pretty sure that the two characters first appeared as a cameo in another story. I think it was a Future Shocks story, in which a rock band make a record that is like a ring system around a planet. DR & Quinch are fans at a concert. Can anyone help me out with this reference? — PhilHibbs | talk 14:02, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You're thinking of "The Hyper-Historical Headbang", a one-off written by Moore and drawn by Davis that, according to my old Titan edition of Alan Moore's Shocking Futures, appeared in prog 322, five issues after "D.R. and Quinch Have Fun on Earth". There's a background character who looks very like Quinch on page 2, but I can't find anyone who looks like D.R. Although I notice that on the first page, fans are throwing around beer cans with logos that look like continent shapes, which ties in with "DR and Quinch Have Fun on Earth", where our heroes rearrange the continents on Earth to spell out a message in their language. --Nicknack009 (talk) 14:53, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
