There seems to be some confusion over Aidit's place of birth. Feith & Castles in Indonesian Political Thinking 1945-1965 (1970) say it was Medan, as does the official Indonesian government account (Sekretariat Negara 1994). The current article says Bangka Island, and although this appears to be unsourced, I wanted to ask if anybody knows any different before I change it. Any thoughts anyone? This article is of extremely poor quality. I started correcting glaring errors, then realised every sentence seemed to include wildly inaccurate claims. I got rid of the sentence asserting that Aidit became a Marxist in the Indies Social Democratic Union (ISDV), an organisation that ceased to exist before Aidit was born, and another claiming that he was a "member" of the comintern (an institution that did not have individual membership and which dissolved itself after several years inactivity when Aidit was nineteen years old). I don't have time to re-write it. Please somebody get rid of the fiction that it contains and re-write based on reliable sources.Slmiller6 (talk) 08:09, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
