Accuracy
[edit]According to the German WP, Um elf Uhr war der Aufstand niedergeschlagen. The uprising was suppressed. Srnec (talk) 00:44, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
- You know, a direct link to the pertinent German UP article would have been helpful. Also, even though the Uprising was suppressed that doesn't mean it didn't happen/that the event isn't notable. Shearonink (talk) 02:23, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- There were German and English links that were removed. AstroSaturn (talk) 16:18, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
Request for page renaming to "American liberation of Dachau"
[edit]I misunderstood the aftermath of the Dachau Uprising, which results in the site not representing a real historical fact. I would like to rename the site and create a new article that is historically accurate. AstroSaturn (talk) 20:50, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
- Couldn't "American liberation of Dachau" be considered part of Dachau liberation reprisals? I think this article's content could perhaps be merged with the reprisals article or some other article but at this point it's all a little bit of a mess. I'm going to request some assistance from an admin and see what should be done. I'm going to be honest...I had never heard of the Dachau uprising before and thought maybe it was too minor to be notable... But it did happen and just because the event isn't common knowledge doesn't mean it isn't notable/factual/verifiable history. Shearonink (talk) 02:23, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- I don't think so. The "Dachau
- liberation reprisals" was the
- Aftermath of the liberation. There are almost no English sources that talk about the Dachau Uprising. There aren't many in German either. Therefore, I think it would be better to rename the site to “American Liberation of Dachau” as there are more sources on which I could “build” up the site. The mess is my fault. I would like to apologize for that.
