All Music Guide reference
[1] I removed it because it is very short, and still so full of weasel-words and POV. And it credits neither any author nor sources/references. -- Chsf 10:53, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Usher, Enrique Iglesias, Kat Deluna and Shakira are NOT specifically dance-pop artists
Please cite references if they ARE! (Mirror Ball 13:28, 2 July 2008 (UTC))
Souljah Boy is NOT dance-pop
Jennifer Lopez is dance-pop she has had many dance hits!
Please cite references before adding her to the list.
Removed Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam and Kate Ryan from the "Notable Dance-pop Artists" section
Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam were more freestyle than outright dance-pop -- except for "Let the Beat Hit 'Em". And Kate Ryan (though she may have had a dance-pop song or two) isn't noteworthy ENOUGH as a dance-pop artist. Please cite references before adding to this list.
Thank you. (Mirror Ball 05:27, 14 July 2008 (UTC))
Belanova is not a NOTABLE dance-pop artist or group
Removed them. They aren't notable in the sense that they won awards, redefined the genre, etc. Also -- please don't add artists unalphabetically as you added belanova. (Mirror Ball 21:34, 16 July 2008 (UTC))
Redundant
The term is redundant and incredibly vague-Binary TSO ???
Another style of music created by allmusic.com editors
As checking references for this article revealed - 3/5 of them are allmusic.com references, 1/5 is not allmusic but only has a mention of "dance-pop" in text. I have already pointed to probable unacceptability of allmusic.com as the source of information related to music genres. There are some other citations that can be found via Google/Google.Books, all having "dance pop"/"dance-pop" words in text. But I'm almost sure, after checking those citations, that no article can be written on the base of them.
So I'm starting the discussion on whether this article should be deleted.
I also would like to propose all articles on music genres having exclusively allmusic.com references as a source to be deleted. -- Appletangerine un (talk) 12:23, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'd rather make an audacious assumption that "dance pop" could also be a synonimous descriptor for some other well-described in appropriate sources music genre. -- Appletangerine un (talk) 12:29, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- This seems to be quite an important debate. Where did you point to this please?--SabreBD (talk) 15:58, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Merge Proposal
Disagree with proposal to merge this article with Disco. Given the discussion on the deletion proposal here, that type of merge would make the whole genre-definition mess even worse. DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 03:42, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Accusation of vandalism
Hello, I saw your message on my talk page. I don't believe I vandalized the page. I removed information that wasn't cited, which is what you are supposed to do, especially for an article that is supposed to be a Good article. I was following the rules of WP:OR and WP:RS. If I'm mistaken, please take it to the discussion already in progress on the talk page for the song's article. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:45, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
