- The editor above is apparently the subject of the article, not a regular Wikipedia contributor and wants to propose some edits to the article. Based on comments on my talk page, the full scope of edits he would like to make are contained [1]. I am not sure if he considers any of the proposed edits are particularly important or if any portions are particularly problematic. An editor more knowledgeable of the subject should take a look. - @Davidbollier: The proposed edits do not offer an improvement to the current article. There are revisions to the proposed text which, if taken, would improve the prose. These changes ought not be carried out unilaterally by the reviewer; the COI editor needs to present themself (or a designated proxy) here on the talk page so as to interact with the reviewer in order to bring about these changes. - @Spintendo: Edits are factually substantive & about updating, not merely improvements in the prose. Happy to discuss them. Many thanks. User talk:Davidbollier
Notability
[edit]Might I request an explanation for why Bollier wouldn't be notable?
- He co-founded Public Knowledge, one of the more significant lobbies in its industries 20 years on.
- His work is cited in other academic literature, per Google Scholar. Like, among people who study the concept of the Commons, Bollier is one of The thought leaders. He is sought out to speak about it internationally. His books are translated into many languages.
- He has received an award for his work, the Berlin Prize. Which is also a fellowship, but I don't see why "your prize is you get to work on your research here" makes it any less an award, in context. His page details some other things he's done.
As it is now, I agree that the article is primitive and should have better referencing, but he's a notable guy. lethargilistic (talk) 05:27, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- This biography has -Zero- independent biographical sources. If he doesn't meet WP:GNG, he isn't notable, even if he has awards or he founded notable orgs. - MrOllie (talk) 13:32, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
