Some of the links in this article should be removed for irrelevance.[edit]

This article about a baseball player contains links point to the Wikipedia articles on "United States," "Cuba," "Miami," "Mexico," "Spanish naming customs," and "Family name." None of those are cross-references to material that will directly help the reader to understand the specifics of the life and accomplishments of this baseball player. I see a lot of this meaningless cross-referencing on Wikipedia. Is some sort of automated process to blame? At any rate, these meaningless, irrelevant cross-reference links should be removed.
