Sources and birthdate
[edit]In attempting to find a source for his birthdate (which was unsuccessful), I did come across several sources that may be useful if anyone is interested in expanding this article in the future:
- Psomopoulos, P. (1993). Dimitris Pikionis: An indelible presence in modern Greece. Ekistics, 60(362/363), 253–275. [1]
- Adams, N. (2000). [Review of Dimitris Pikionis, 1887-1968, by A. Ferlenga]. Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians, 59(1), 126–128. [2]
- Tsiomis, Y. (2019). « Le lendemain je partais pour la Grèce » ‒ Dimitris Pikionis (1887-1968) : biographies et mémoires d’un architecte grec ("The next day I was leaving for Greece" - Dimitris Pikionis (1887-1968): biographies and memoirs of a Greek architect, in French) [3]
- Dimitris Pikionis, 'Autobiographical Notes' (1958), in Mega XI, Dimitris Pikionis, Architect 1887–1968: A Sentimental Topography, ed. by Crompton, pp. 34–7 (p. 37) (cannot find access to this online anywhere, but it appears to have useful information if someone could access it, given the number of places it's cited)
On the subject of his birthdate - the article currently says that it's January 26, which I cannot find a source for anywhere. Library of Congress says he was born June 1887, but I'm not sure where that comes from. I will be removing the January 26 birthdate accordingly. Aerin17 (t • c) 06:59, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
