Confusion in BASICs
[edit]"Dog Star was written in the very limited TRS-80 Model I BASIC, so many of the techniques used in the game were easily adapted to other dialects of BASIC. The key concept is the way the game uses an array to describe the room layouts, with different numbers representing various objects or connections to other rooms. Since Model I BASIC had only a single array, storing all of the required data required some clever coding. In other BASICs with multiple arrays, this was much easier.[11]"
Model I BASIC? No such thing. The TRS-80 Model I had two BASICs: a very limited Level I BASIC (which indeed had but one array but also no string handling to speak of) and Level II BASIC (a slightly-stripped down version of Microsoft BASIC (to fit in 12K instead of the usual 16K). 154.5.153.168 (talk) 04:44, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
- You're right, that's a typo. Fixed. Maury Markowitz (talk) 16:09, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
