I am the subject of the page ``Donald W. Loveland and wish to propose an update and note an error. I am not skilled at editing and also
do not believe in editing my own page so I request consideration of the following issues.
In 2019 I was elected a Fellow of the AAAS (American Association for the advancement of Science). The citation to support this is
SCIENCE 366, p.1088 (2019). ISSN 0036-8075.
The error is the pointer to the thesis advisor Peter Ungar. Peter is a mathematician not a paleoanthropologist. He is listed in the
Mathematics Genealogy Project (MGP).
Finally, I would like to list all of my doctoral students on my Wikipedia page but I note (small sample) that only doctoral students
with Wikipedia pages seem to be listed. Thus I do not list the other doctoral students here but if a full listing is permissible I will
supply the names (and they are also listed on my MGP entry).
Regardless of whether the user is Donald W. Loveland, the suggestions regarding the AAAS fellowship and Peter Ungar can stand on their own merit. I have verified them to be accurate and have changed the article accordingly. I'm not familiar with Wikipedia's practice for whether to list doctoral students, so I'll leave that up to someone else, but my hunch is that they must have a Wikipedia article of their own/be notable in order to be listed. I see the potential clash with other Donald Williams that I had not checked before. The Z was added to differentiate the name from others
if needed. Since the requested changes have been adopted I have no further use for the account and will abandon it. I consider the graduate student issue closed. Thank you for the entry of the corrections. --73.47.1.79 (talk) 19:18, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
