Route

[edit]

It would be good to have the route, which is currently available as an external Google Maps link, available in the article as a table of PoIs, like that on Tame Valley Canal#Features. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 15:08, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That is certainly a useful start. Is it reliable (the alleged route, not google maps)? Pyrotec (talk) 15:30, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No idea - that's one reason I'd like it moved inside WP, so we can add refs. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 15:36, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Pols is one thing, your example Tame Valley Canal#Features also has a route map, but this "system" is mostly hidden underground in a mixture of pipes, tunnels and syphons; but there are apparently a few short above ground sections (see the External link section in the article). Route maps for subterranian features are fine; see Netherton Tunnel Branch Canal. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 16:08, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Its near neighbour, Dudley Tunnel on the Dudley Canal, is more interesting though. Pyrotec (talk) 16:13, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

At long last, I've made a start. Some of the rivers and streams crossed are, on OpenStreetMap at least, unnamed. No doubt other points could be added. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 23:55, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Names sourced from out-of-copyright OS 1st edition (and added to OSM at the same time). Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 00:23, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
