Unnecessary reversion

[edit]

All that changed between these is the time, so why the "rv to the last good version"? We probably weren't meant to notice, I know... Seasider53 (talk) 13:55, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Seasider53: Because if you look at the infobox stats in the first edit, they were wrong. I updated the time and career stats here, on the presumption that this earlier IP edit was correct and that Simms had scored in a league game yesterday. He didn't - it was a cup game, hence the revert when I realised. Unsure what you mean by "We probably weren't meant to notice, I know", please explain. You have either not looked at the edit history properly or you are, for some reason, deliberately mis-representing my edits. GiantSnowman 14:00, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think you're looking at the wrong initial IP edit. The infobox was exactly the same then as it is now. Edit: I think I see the issue now. Seasider53 (talk) 14:10, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, this is the first edit from this weekend - [1], changing stats to 10/4. Current infobox stats are 9/3. I'm super confused. If you are wrong, please apologise. GiantSnowman 14:12, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Seasider53: Interested to hear further from you, thanks. GiantSnowman 15:24, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Note about Simms' FA Cup quarter-finals brace

[edit]

Simms scored a brace in Coventry City's FA Cup quarter-final match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, one of which occurred in stoppage time when Coventry was down by a goal. This was the first time Coventry City had progressed to this point in the competition since the 1986–87 FA Cup, meaning that these goals were particularly notable. I also included mention of this match in Haji Wright's and Coventry City's articles because of the importance of these two's goals for the club's history. If something about Simms' goals was to be removed that I added it seems more likely to me it would be him revealing a shirt with the name of Tatsuhiro Sakamoto on it to support an injured teammate after he scored a goal in a match he would later achieve a hat-trick in.
