Notability?[edit]

Is she really notable? From what I can see her main claim to fame is being the wife of the Lib Dem leader. There aren't articles on Sarah Kennedy, Jane Ashdown, Deborah Owen, Jennifer Jenkins, Laura Grimond or Caroline Thorpe and I'm not sure of the names of the wives of David Steel or Robert Maclennan. There is one for Marion Stein (the second Mrs Thorpe) but this seems to be because of her musical career. (I haven't looked for the wives of leaders of the other parties yet but they may also fail the notability test.) Timrollpickering 10:35, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, now there are articles on Sarah Kennedy, Deborah Owen, Jennifer Jenkins and Caroline Thorpe, and none are dealing with wives of Liberal leaders. That means IMHO that being the wife of a politician does not make one notable by itself. Maarten1963 (talk) 14:16, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion[edit]

This page should be deleted. Read every sentence about this person and all you will see is info on where they were born, where they lived, went to school, and who they married. This person has not done anything notable to deserve to have an encyclopedia page of her own. If this becomes the standard on Wikipedia, then anyone who has ever married any person of minor notability can claim to have the right to have their own encyclopedia page. Kinda depends on who attended the parties, or what was served, or if the early Beatles performed maybe? I concur this article fails the notability test. Is seems ANYONE and I mean ANYONE lately is entitled to have their bio on WP.
