[edit]On "White Australian Eltham"
I lived in Eltham from 1989 to 1993 and attended Eltham High School. I have visited Eltham many times since then. I have NEVER seen any nationality other than White Australian. I am saying this neither as a good nor a bad thing. At Eltham High School I never saw a single non- white student either.Lincoln muadib (talk) 23:29, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- My school was all-white too at that time, but last week I walked past the small community church in my suburb and there was African drums going on and African children dancing outside it. That being said, both our observations fall under original research and we should be using published sources for this sort of information. The census does indeed suggest a very high percentage of white English-speaking people (80-90%) compared to Melbourne as a whole (64-68%), although in the Shire of Nillumbik region it is not unusual. It should be noted this trend is consistent in all Australian cities for outer suburban areas. Orderinchaos 04:23, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Many of the so called "Elthamites" did not, in fact, reside in Eltham growing up (such as Emily Browning - Actor), but only attended school in Eltham. Tristtt 06:07, 28 August 2007 (UTC) |
