Source: Damien Sharkov, "Turkey Summons German Ambassador Over Erdogan Music Video Parody: Report" Newsweek

"German news magazine Spiegel reported on Monday that Erdmann had been summoned four days earlier and on Tuesday a Turkish diplomat speaking on the condition of anonymity confirmed to AFP that the meeting had taken place.

"We summoned the ambassador last week to communicate our protest about the broadcast that we condemned," the source said. "We demanded that the broadcast be removed from the air."" [1]
    • ALT1: ... that the Turkish government's attempts to ban the music video "Erdowie, Erdowo, Erdogan" caused the German TV station that aired it to receive ten times its normal viewership? Source: Melissa Eddy, "Erdogan's Attempt to Suppress German Satires Has the Opposite Effect" The New York Times "Not least, Mr. Erdogan’s move spurred a surge of online interest in the video, which by Thursday had attracted more than four million views — tenfold the program’s usual audience." Converted from a redirect by Trainsandotherthings (talk) and Eviolite (talk). Nominated by Trainsandotherthings (talk) at 01:56, 28 October 2021 (UTC).[reply]

  • Note: The page has been moved to Erdowie, Erdowo, Erdogan as the song's title does not have an accent. I have changed this accordingly above, though the DYK subpage has not been moved since that might mess something up. eviolite (talk) 02:32, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • New enough and long enough redirect conversion. QPQ present. Both sources check out (though I see Newsweek was replaced with another—good call). I'm a little worried about ALT1 being an apples-to-oranges comparison of YouTube views versus TV ratings, though, so unless that can be addressed, only ALT0 is promoted.
