Male name[edit]

An anonymous editor claims that the name is unisex. Wiktionary claims exclusively female. Does anyone know of any male Erin? Dbfirs 19:01, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edits about male version in India are presumably from a different derivation of the name, and would therefore presumably be a different article, and a hatnote would be carried from this article to that article. Singular[edit]

A bit like Germany - but before the Reunification there was briefly talk of the two Germanies in the British Press (mostly, I suspect, so the broadsheets could broadside the red tops over the spelling). I don't suppose the Irish Gaelic Press ever refers to the two Irelands (i.e., Northern and the ROI)?

Erin in the work of William Blake[edit]

Why is there no mention of the character of Erin in the work of William Blake? Hi. I'm personally not sure what change you are proposing to make to this article (or what mention you propose to make and where). However, I would note that Erin (personification) is probably a better place to discuss the use (by any artist or any writer) of Erin as a personification of Ireland. This article is primarily about the name/word itself. And its derivation/history/etc. Use of the name/work, as a personification of Ireland, is covered elsewhere. (In the same way that the Hibernia and Hibernia (personification) articles are separated. Or the Liberty and Liberty (personification) or Hispania and Hispania (personification) articles are distinct. If you're therefore planning on adding content about Blake's use of Erin as a personification/representation of something, then perhaps it isn't here because it's not really the place for it...
