It is incorrect for 'Ezekiel's Temple' to redirect to the 'Third Temple' article, as the majority of the text in the 'Third Temple' article has nothing to do with Ezekiel's temple - hence this new article ('Ezekiel's Temple'). The Third Temple article is about a number of viewpoints, expectations and projects regarding the building of a third temple in Jerusalem, almost none of which are based on Ezekiel's Temple.
There is currently some useful text regarding Ezekiel's temple in the Third Temple article, which has been used to build this article.
There is a potential connection between 'Third Temple' and Ezekiel's temple in that some believe that the third temple will be based on Ezekiel's temple, so article 'Third Temple' will need to reference the Ezekiel's temple article.Clivemacd (talk) 10:38, 2 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
could we get some info on when historically this temple was dreamed about. between the first and the second? i think the reader isn't left with a full picture. Jjazz76 (talk) 04:23, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The introduction to the 'Third Temple' article states: 'the Second Temple.... having been destroyed during the Roman siege of Jerusalem in 70 CE.... the notion of and desire for the Third Temple is sacred in Judaism, and particularly in Orthodox Judaism.... Among religious Jews, the anticipation of an ultimate future project centred around building the Third Temple at the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem has been a running theme that, in Israel, is also espoused as an ideological motive.' This article [Ezekiel's Temple] references the Third Temple article. Hope this helps. Clivemacd (talk) 16:47, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, absolutely, that is the way forward. To be clear, I am certainly not trying to replace the Third Temple article, which has useful material within its own context. If/when 'Ezekiel's Temple' is approved, I will edit 'Third Temple' to ensure that the two articles are consistent and reference one another as appropriate.Clivemacd (talk) 10:49, 2 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Great - explained better than I could. I actually agree with that approach and that characterization of Third Temple. I've requested the redirect be deleted and this draft moved to mainspace. Legacypac (talk) 11:47, 2 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
