Time for a section on linking as one of the three White House officials tied to files shared with House intelligence chairman. Shall I?--Wikipietime (talk) 15:42, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Rise

[edit]

A lot of credible information is missing from the article and considering fame is so fleeting; I think the article needs to be "beefed" up for an accurate portrayal of this period in American History. [1]--Wikipietime (talk) 12:43, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Apart from a few bits related to Cohen-Watnick's work at the DIA, I feel like most of the major factual points are supported by multiple references. If you can find any more sources I'm certainly all ears. Is there something specific that's troubling you? PvOberstein (talk) 20:50, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cohen-Watnick fired

[edit]

Propose reverting [edit] by Lancer23457 at 05:47, 14 January 2018. Numerous sources baldly state that he was fired from the NSC. Vanity Fair's opaque version of Cohen-Watnick's departure buried in a general article about White House comings-and-goings is sadly no match for a host of headline news sources specifically concerning Cohen-Watnick's firing. Cpaaoi (talk) 09:51, 14 January 2018 (UTC) Now reverted - having looked even more closely at the sourcing, ECW has been described routinely as having been fired. This is not a BLP matter; it is a matter of selective sourcing. Cpaaoi (talk) 15:45, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the sources cited by Cpaaoi do not use the term fired to specifically refer to subject. Appears that Cpaaoi is exercising an agenda. Important to maintain WP:NPOV. Inclusion of WH official comment on the matter, which was deleted by Cpaaoi partially achieves WP:NPOV. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lancer23457 (talkcontribs) 06:14, 15 January 2018 (UTC) Lancer23457 (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic. You are right on three counts:
* It is important to maintain NPOV. That is why Cohen-Watnick is described here (charitably) as having been removed. Because that is the consensus among the sources.
* It is true that some of the sources do not use the word 'fired'. They use the words 'removed' or 'dismissed'. Which is how it is described on this page.
* And you are right - I do have an agenda. An agenda to cleave to the sources - and not to whitewash over the fact that Cohen-Watnick was kicked out of office.
I'll check this page periodically in the future in order to make sure that it still represents the sources accurately. All the best! Cpaaoi (talk) 08:28, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A Seriously Unclear Sentence

[edit]

"It is alleged that Cohen-Watnick inadvertently identified reports suggesting that members of Trump's campaign team had been subjected to incidental surveillance by the United States intelligence community, as part of an unrelated review of privacy procedures." Aside from the obvious passive voice, whatever it is this sentence is trying to convey should probably be done in multiple sentences. Jim Bowery (talk) 23:58, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ezra Cohen, another of Miller’s top confidants, believes that his colleagues’ words and deeds may be well and good, but are beside the point: “The president threw us under the bus. And when I say ‘us,’ I don’t mean only us political appointees or only us Republicans. He threw America under the bus. He caused a lot of damage to the fabric of this country. Did he go and storm the Capitol himself? No. But he, I believe, had an opportunity to tamp things down and he chose not to. And that’s really the fatal flaw. I mean, he’s in charge. And when you’re in charge, you’re responsible for what goes wrong.”

Remembering the words just written by the prior "editer" here's an even more "FATAL FLAW" with our current administration compared to the previous one. Only one person perished at the alleged capital riot. A deadly attack in Kabul, Afghanistan resulting in the death of 13 American Marines plus other American citizens was far more deadly and Joe Biden "had the opportunity to tamp things down and chose not to." "He was in charge, and when you're in charge, you're responsible for what goes wrong", right?

Name?

[edit]

His name on official biographies appears to be Ezra Cohen. I can’t find any official biography where he is referred to as Cohen-Watnick. Media reporting appears to be varied. Should consider listing birth name as Cohen Watnick but changing name elsewhere to Cohen.

Law School?

[edit]

When did he attend law school? I couldn’t find a reliable source saying he was a law school grad. Would this have been before his government service? 108.145.161.142 (talk) 17:12, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
