Schools' is awkward
[edit]Is there any reason this is referred to as the Schools' War? It's an awkward way to phrase it, and it doesn't match the French or the Dutch. I think 'School War' or 'Schools War' would make more sense and sound less awkward. Thoughts? Oreo Priest talk 00:55, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- It's my translation - I agree it doesn't work brilliantly, but it is an attempt to match "scolaire" in the lack of a really equivalent adjective in English. However, I certainly wouldn't oppose a move to "School War" so long as the same is also applied to Second Schools' War and History of Belgium.Brigade Piron (talk) 06:16, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- I think 'School War' is even a better translation of 'guerre scolaire'; here 'school' is an adjective. It's also a pretty close translation of Schoolstrijd, so there's that. I'm going to be bold and change all instances of it I can find. Cheers, Oreo Priest talk 14:08, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
