Notability[edit]

I don't think this guy is notable enough yet to have a personal article on Wikipedia. His band might be big enough, but it makes no sense to have a separate article right now, as most of his work is done under the 'Francis and the Lights' moniker and it seems to refer entirely to himself. Maybe we could add the info from the article to the other one and delete this one? 104.175.181.131 (talk) 19:16, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you think this article shouldn't exist, the best way to address that would be to nominate it for deletion, a process whereby other users can look at the article to determine if it meets the notability guidelines and determine the best course of action for the article. Hey 104.175.181.131, I am willing to make this page into a redirect to Francis and the Lights if we include everything from here that is not in the F&tL page. Pastures of Andalusia (talk) 01:42, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

This page is basically a duplicate of the Francis and the Lights page and was written by a now-banned sock puppet account that was either an obsessive fan or someone related to artist. Francis's body of work seems to be almost entirely under the Francis and the Lights name (including solo productions and writing credits). I propose we either merge the discography section from this page into the other one or create a new Francis Farewell Starlite Discography article and delete this page. Keep it.

Birth name[edit]

His birth name appears to be Frankle Gold Steinberg, according to a couple unreliable sources online but cannot find a reliable source. May be something worth looking into and adding if someone finds it. -Kylelovesyou (talk) 00:13, 12 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal[edit]

I propose merging Francis Farewell Starlite into Francis and the Lights. I saw that this was suggested back in 2016 that did not get any responses, but I would like to bring that discussion up again here. A great deal of this article is about his work as Francis and the Lights, and given that Starlite often uses Francis and the Lights rather than his real name, I think all of the information here could easily be merged into the more commonly used name. I also believe that this situation differs from how Bleachers and Jack Antonoff have separate articles, as Antonoff only uses the Bleachers name for his solo projects and not his producing/writing for other artists.

I would also be happy to do the necessary work to combine the information from these two articles should others agree that a merge is the best course of action. Sock (tock talk) 14:19, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
