Missing years?
[edit]I did graduate work in history at the University of South Carolina 1962-1963. Among the visiting professors then was one Fred Shannon, retired from the University Of Illinois and noted as an opponent of the thesis of Walter Prescott Webb's work, The Great Plains. I signed up for Shannon's seminar, but he died during the first week of classes. I thought it was in July 1963, not February, but I may be mistaken. Anyway, there seems to be a big gap from the late 20s to 1963. Maybe this is not the same Fred Shannon? clariosophic (talk) 22:58, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
