This statement seems extremely inaccurate: "In later years he was an honorary member of the Brooklyn Chess Club."

Perrin was definitely a member of the Brooklyn Chess Club already in 1860 (at age 45, which is hardly his "later years").:

Brooklyn Daily Eagle October 30, 1860

"Great Chess Match Between Brooklyn and New York- A chess match has been arranged between five players of the Brooklyn Chess Club and five players of the New York Chess Club. They are to be paired off, each pair to play three games exclusive of draws, the club winning the greatest number of games to be declared the victors. The match is to be played partly in New York and partly in Brooklyn. The gentlemen selected to represent the Brooklynites are: Messrs. F. Perrin, N. Marache, Horner, B. Rice and Endall. The New York Club, we understand, have chosen Messrs. Lichtenhien, Thompson, Loyd, Michaelis and Barnett, to be their champions."

and was far more than an honorary member:

Brooklyn Daily Eagle, October 12, 1863

"On Saturday evening, the Brooklyn Chess Club held their regular annual meeting at their rooms, No. 74 Court street; a full quorum of members being present, President Perrin being the Chair. After reading and approval of the minutes of the last meeting, an election for officers for the ensuing year took place; the following gentlemen being unanimously elected to fill the offices of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer, respectively, viz. : Messrs. Perrin, Mathews, Raymond and Baxter. "
