Opening heading

[edit]

Why did you take that extra information away re Frederick Walker. You are up there in Qld and deleting stuff from the Tumut area which you would have left if you knew it. Given you dont, you delete it.

My references are Walkers own diary but also the Crime and Justice Museum in Sydney.

The heading of this article needs to be changed from 'Frederick Walker (explorer)' to 'Frederick Walker (Commandant of the Native Police)' this, after all, is how he is best known today. There are also pictures of the man Helsned 07:17, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Frederick Walker (explorer)Frederick Walker (Commandant of Native Police) – Frederick Walker is an important historical person in Queensland, he was also a station manager and an explorer, but that is all secondary. He is predominantly known to history as the first Commandant of the Native Police Force, it is important that this is also visible here as it is elsewhere relisted--Mike Cline (talk) 17:24, 13 February 2012 (UTC) -- Helsned 12:46, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

anyone that doubt my word only need to read his biography on Australian Dictionary of Biography http://adb.anu.edu.au/biography/walker-frederick-4784Helsned 12:49, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

I have no objection to the suggested change, what is important is that this man is known primarily as the first Native Police Commandant, secondly as a property manager and that he is hardly known and not universally acclaimed as an explorer. Helsned 06:22, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
