@TheBirdsShedTears why do I need to attribute when I wrote the article you want to be attributed? Please see the page you linked. The section on NOT NEEDED. Venkat TL (talk) 18:39, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Talk:Freedom of the press in India#Removed content. TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 19:20, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I read it when you linked it in the edit summary. And it is also clear that you have not read it yourself and are asking me to do something that is clearly mentioned as Not Needed. You just need to read it before giving wrong advice. Please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia#Where attribution is not needed Venkat TL (talk) 04:43, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removed content

[edit]

@TheBirdsShedTears in your edit summary you said no link. This is what is said about their objective, I have added the source. What is your concern. Why remove? Venkat TL (talk) 18:41, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Venkat TL, just adding Editors Guild of India's lead section in the press freedom article doesn't make any sense. You need to show what role/contribution they have played in press freedom. Also, copying the content from other Wikipedia articles be properly attributed as mentioned in WP:COPYWITHIN. See an example HERE. TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 19:18, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I did not add it in the lead. What are you talking about? Please answer my question. Venkat TL (talk) 04:44, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Venkat TL, I mean you copied the lead section of Editors Guild of India and pasted it into this article. TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 12:57, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
So? Venkat TL (talk) 13:00, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
So it is irrelevant for this article. TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 13:02, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
how does copying make it irrelevant? Venkat TL (talk) 13:46, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please reread the comments. Adding

Editors Guild of India (EGI) is an organization of journalists, created for the purpose of protecting freedom of the press in India and raising the standards of editorial leadership of newspapers and magazines [1]

to this article do not make any sense. Please indicate how it is relevant to the this article (Freedom of the press in India)? It seems you are not reviewing comments posted here. For instance, a mobile phone is relevant to a software, but a software is not related to a flowing river in any way. TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 14:04, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Why should the article on Freedom of the press in India not mention (briefly) about the major orgs working for Freedom of the press in India? This is one of main orgs and not a random NGO. Venkat TL (talk) 14:16, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It seems you should review WP:COI. You can add this information by yourself with reliable entries. But if this organization have not contributed to press freedom, then adding a description of Editors Guild of India here is not necessary and it may not be relevant to this article. Regards TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 15:43, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No there is no COI. This major org has contributed to press freedom and still does. Read the source please. Venkat TL (talk) 15:59, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
