Salus

Early life

There's nothing in here about his family or his early life. While it is hinted that nothing is known about that, if it is true, the article should say so. --Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 22:34, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, to make that statement would require a secondary source; otherwise, it's original research to infer only on the basis of one's own efforts that nothing is known. A Wikipedian's failed efforts to find information is not an indication that it doesn't exist, if you see what I mean. So in writing these biographical articles, I don't state "little is known" unless my secondary sources have asserted as much, because I might just be making a statement only of my own limitations.
