Citation for U.S. Release Date[edit]

U.S. release date is listed here as December 11th, 1964. Does anyone have an official citation for this, or know more details about its initial U.S. release? The only other source that I've found with this date is IMDB, which is not 100% reliable and also does not list an external source. I've checked Tom Vick's and Tony Rayns' books, and neither one lists a U.S. release date for the film or any details about it.

My impression was that Suzuki wasn't distributed in the U.S. until much later, starting with his art house films in the 1980s and later with film festival retrospectives of his Nikkatsu work. That said, Gate of Flesh was his most popular Nikkatsu film, so I guess if any of them would have been screened in the U.S. it would have been that one. If that U.S. release date is true, it might be nice to include more detail about it (i.e., who distributed it, where did it screen), since there doesn't seem to be much information about that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.56.51.110 (talk) 17:03, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
