Mathnet? Really?
[edit]I removed the section quoted here:
- In Popular Culture
- George T. Stagg made an appearance in the PBS television series Mathnet. In the episode titled "The One Where Everyone Chips in for a Present" character Dr. Doug Fowler (commonly referred to as Dr. Dong on the show) is given a bottle of George T. Stagg (as well as two fancy whiskey glasses and a wine refrigerator) by his common-law wife Megan Westcott along with their friends Kiyomi, Josh, Anne, Megan, Kevin, Kendra, Mike O., Rena, Erin, Deirdre, Bill, Angela, Maneesh and Lisa all chipping in what they could.
Without a citation, I am skeptical that a children’s TV show featured whiskey as a gift or had a character named Dr. Dong. None of the people mentioned here are mentioned on the Mathnet page. I will err on the side of acceptance and assume that the anonymous IP address that entered this was sincere; if so, just add a citation for this curious bit of trivia. — crism (talk) 14:33, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
