George Dubois is not Bolesław Syrewicz[edit]

George Dubois has not "produced" the bust of Frédéric Chopin that since 1999 has been exposed - and still is exposed - in the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris. The original bust created by George Dubois in 1900 has been melted down in 1942 in order to produce bullets. The Polish government offered a replica of another bust, created in 1872 by the Polish sculptor Bolesław Syrewicz (1835-1899). In 1999 the Syrewicz-bust replaced the original Dubois-bust. The relevant information can be found in footnote 2.

Needless to say, the photo is also totally wrong. And again, footnote 2 shows the correct image.

Updated. You could have updated it yourself, as the article isn't page protected. Joseph2302 (talk) 07:53, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. The photo caption is still erroneous. (I will not edit the English Wikipedia as long as my account is indefinitely blocked from editing for foolish reasons. Neither shall I apologize for what I did in the past - what I always have done is to serve encyclopedic interests.) 94.157.168.181 (talk) 11:12, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
